Can I use my 990-EZ to fill out my Data Profile?

Answer
If your organization is unaudited and files a 990-EZ, you may use that form as the basis for your Data Profile. The 990-EZ has sections containing revenue, expense, and balance sheet information.  However, the 990-EZ information is very summary in nature. You may also need to refer to your internal financial documents to fill in the detail required by the CDP.
 
Be sure to read the supplementary schedules which may contain additional information and the details about “other” lines, such as Other Expenses, Other Assets, etc. These schedules might be particularly useful: 
  • Schedule B - Schedule of Contributors
  • Schedule D - Supplemental Financial Statements
  • Schedule G - Supplemental Information Regarding Fundraising or Gaming Activities
  • Schedule M - Noncash Contributions
  • Schedule O - Supplemental Information to Form 990 or 990-EZ
  • Schedule R - Related Organizations and Unrelated Partnerships
