Answer

Distinct Offerings vs. # of Times Offered

In the Programs section under Program Activities & Audiences of the Cultural Data Profile (CDP) survey, data for certain program activities is collected by determining an activity’s distinctiveness and the number of times it occurs. You will be asked to enter data by distinct offerings and # of times offered. Distinct offerings are programs and events with unique content and # of times offered is the total number of multiple occurrences of the same program or event.

Example 1: Theater X performed the musical Dreamgirls during its season last year. Theater X performed the musical a total of 10 times during the season. In the CDP survey, you would enter 1 for distinct offerings and 10 for # of times offered.

Example 2: Art School X offers an introduction to sculpture class once a week for 7 weeks. In this case, you would enter a one for distinct offerings and enter 7 for # of times offered
